PJ Pants, boxers & Bloomers
PJ Pants, Boxers & Bloomers all use nearly the same directions, so if you learn one you learn all three.
With right sides together, stitch FRONT to BACK at seam 25 only..
With right sides together, stitch FRONT to BACK at seam 25 only..
For gathered BLOOMERS only: all others skip to the next image... Apply elastic to the wrong side of the cloth at the elastic line.
With the right sides together, stitch the crotch at seam 23. This is the front half of the crotch. Do NOT sew seam 22 yet. The back half will be sewn later.
Elastic Preparation... With the wrong side up, fold hem 24 down. inch. Pin the folded part in place. Stitch 1/4 inch above hem 24 to form a tunnel, which is called a casing.
Push 1/8-inch-wide elastic thru the casing
Stitch or pin one end of the tunnel closed. Be sure the end of the elastic is stitched in place.
Work the elastic all the way to the other side until ¼ inch sticks out the other end of the casing.
Stitch the end of the casing closed. Be sure the end of the elastic is stitched in place.
With right sides together, stitch seam 22. This is the back half of the crotch. You should now have a tube that doesn’t look like boxers at all.
Fold so that the seams 25 are on the each side and the bottom points of seams 22 and 23 meet in the middle to form the crotch.
Line up the hems of both legs and sew seam 26 from hem to hem.
make sure you sew the seam 26 last . because its a pain in the ace to sew the him after seam 26.
Now just turn them right side out, and send us photos.
